Throughout his career, Michael has made his mark by combining the traditions of his southern Italian roots with the distinctive hallmarks of a contemporary Napa Valley lifestyle. With decades of experience in the television, retail and restaurant worlds, he opened Bottega Restaurant in 2009, which features fresh, seasonally based, flavorful Italian cuisine celebrating the bounty of Napa Valley. In its debut year, Bottega received three stars from the San Francisco Chronicle and was honored by Esquire magazine as one of the “Best New Restaurants in America” for 2009. Also in 2009, Michael competed on Bravo’s premiere season of Top Chef Masters, advancing to finalist level. With five award-winning cookbooks to his name, he visits Draeger’s Cooking School to celebrate his latest cookbook, Michael Chiarello’s Bottega.
